Colleagues collaborating with notebooks in a bright room

Most teams rewrite notification titles whenever a campaign underperforms. The result is noise: overlapping changes, unclear winners, and engagement insights that cannot be trusted. A backlog forces order.

List each live notification type once. Beside it, note the single hypothesis you want to test next — tone, specificity, or benefit placement. Run one change at a time for a full week on a stable audience slice. Record the primary measure (usually tap-through) and a guardrail (opt-outs or support tickets). Archive losers without drama; promote winners into the default catalogue.

This discipline is the backbone of our engagement reviews. The backlog is short on purpose: three active experiments beat twelve simultaneous rewrites.
